Night life

9 Feb 21 Wandering where to Wander!

Tuesday 9 Feb 21

Got up at 8 and let the dogs out. I had the usual breakfast of oats with berries, toast or muffin and grapefruit. After cleaning up from breakfast I went in WM to get Pete's insulin. I was a bit surprised to learn that the pharmacy opened at 0600. It was $26. After I got back to the RT I secured everything and got on the road. I stopped in Fillmore Ut for fuel, it was only $2.20 for 85 octane. There was an old abandoned motel by the gas station that was being remodeled. The windows and exterior doors had been replaced recently. I wonder if it will be profitable this time.  I think it was already in trouble because of the Chinese Virus.

After gas I tried to take a nap but couldn't go to sleep so I drove to a Burger King and used one of my $5 coupons for a Wopper combo meal. They are normally $8, so that is a pretty good deal. I much prefer a Whopper over anything McDonald's has to offer.

Before whenever  I was  home I would to go to the McDonald's in Clinton for coffee every morning. Due to the Chinese Virus they stopped indoor dining. To the best of my knowledge all McDonald's still do not allow dining in. I happen to discover that the Burger King in Clearfield did allow indoor dinning and that became my new spot for coffee. I later discover that all Burger Kings have indoor dining. Now while I'm in town I go to the one in Clearfield which is within walking distance or I drive to the one by the Walmart in Clinton. The Clinton store is a lot better but I prefer the layout of the one in Clearfield. The store manager in Clinton is a young lady named Kathy. She is apparently a great person to work for since she has a very faithful and dedicate crew. At Christmas time I actually bought 10 $10 WM gift cards and handed then to Kathy to give to her morning crew. They have are all been so kind to me since I started going there.

The store manager in Clearfield is Val. I have had some great conversations with Val. She is a very interesting woman. Since I started going there her 3 children have worked there off and on as well.

While having lunch I decided I would go to Goblin Valley State Park. Dad and I had been there in the Fall of 1992 while on a road trip of Canyonlands National Park. I think that Mom and Dad were in Utah for the birth of Breeanna my youngest niece. I believe my sister Karen and her husband Bobby were in Utah as well.

Back on the road I drove until I was about 10 miles from the turn off to the park then stopped at a pull-out for the night. After setting up camp I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for dinner. After dinner I watched a DVD from a 5 DVD series covering the 1900. Tonight's DVD cover 1900-1919. I can't recall where I bought the series but I like it a lot. I'm sure it was purchased at a second hand store. After the DVD I fed the dogs and went to bed.
